Perfect Hangout and Good Grubs at Irie

Irie Gastropubliko is owned and operated by business partners, Lito Inso and Jan Rodriguez, who also happens to be the executive chef of both Ila Puti and Irie. The restaurant is named after Rodriguez's second son, Euan Irie. In Jamaica, Irie means "good vibes and feeling happy or cool".

Irie is the perfect hangout spot whether you're out on a casual date, with friends or family, with colleagues for business or after work or even just by yourself. Best place to be to get excellent PUB food but not as we know it - Irie serves more than just your average American pub grubs. Where else can you find classic burgers with truffle paste, wasabi mayonnaise, blue cheese, garlic aoli or French Gruyere cheese? Or fries with truffle oil? All the dishes, fusion or traditional, were carefully thought of with a little bit of love and attention to give you something refreshingly different.

The staff is exceeding friendly and helpful.
The atmosphere suits the contemporary pub scene.

I can't say much for the bar as I don't really drink but Irie has a fairly wide selection of beer and cocktails with funky names like The Arrogant Bastard Ale or Rogue. I think I see Heineken down the line too - plus points for serving Dutch beer! :)

Most portions at Irie are huge and very tasty.
Highly recommend the Angus Steak Kebabs and the Fat Bastard chop.

Classic Angus Burger
{6 oz of fresh hand crafted Angus beef patty with dill pickles, lettuce and onions on brioche buns}

I like this restaurant so much that I don't really want to say anything negative but to give a fair review, when they delivered this burger to my table the first time, it was not as well cooked as I would have preferred and was still slightly pink in the middle. Now for someone who doesn't even eat sushi, sashimi nor ceviche, never mind medium rare red meat, it was really a turn off for me. I did try to take a few bites but was having a hard time forcing it down so I requested the kitchen if they can maybe put it back on the grill for a few minutes just to cook it a bit more but instead, they gave me a new, freshly prepared fully well done burger. So I was very grateful for that and that speaks volumes to me about how this restaurant values their customers.

Lemon Berry Yogurt Smoothie
 {creamy yogurt blended with lemon juice and raspberries - tart and refreshing}

Wasabi Burger
{Angus Beef patty with house-made wasabi mayo, miso and pickled onions}
I can feel you trying to brain taste this flavor combo.
Very unusual indeed for a burger. Definitely an acquired taste.

IT Park may be packed with good restaurants to choose from but Irie Gastropubliko is one place well worth checking out for something a little bit different. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and will definitely be back! Can't wait to try the other grubs on the menu!
